Dr. Jart+'s Ceramidin Body Lotion Is Saving My Dry, Sensitive Limbs This Fall

As someone with skin as dry as the Sahara desert, I've always been about rich creams and body butters rather than lotions when it comes to caring for the skin on my limbs. The reason being that lotions are typically much lighter and leave my skin craving more moisture. Despite my reservations, I decided to give Dr. Jart+'s Ceramidin Body Lotion a go when it landed on my doorstep a few weeks back because I love all of the brand's other ceramide-based products (especially its original Ceramidin Cream).

As you can likely glean from the headline of this article, I'm so glad that I did — give it a chance, that is — as it's super soothing and packs a major punch in the hydration department even though it's so lightweight. In addition to it's "five-cera complex," which is a blend of ceramides that help strengthen the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss, it also contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin, coconut oil, and many more nourishing ingredients that support healthy skin.

While I don't mind a thick moisturizer, I must admit I'm loving how weightless this one is. It sinks in so fast and never, ever feels sticky or greasy on the skin — that, and it's yet to get on any of my clothes, which is always a plus. Another reason I love this lotion is it's been great at calming itch and irritation. It also doesn't seem to have a noticeable scentt, and that's always something I look for in a moisturizer as I'm super-prone to adverse reactions from fragrance.

I like to slather it on as soon as I step out of the shower and lightly pat myself off so I'm not soaking wet, but still damp. I've found this really helps lock in hydration, which makes sense considering it's what every dermatologist out there recommends when it comes to applying moisturizer. It takes roughly 60 seconds to sink into the skin, and then it feels like I've got nothing on — but in a good way.

The bottom line: If you also struggle with perenially dry skin, considering giving Dr. Jart+'s Ceramidin Body Lotion a shot. You can shop it for $25 on sephora.com.
